Creating Website: Portfolio

I created my Portfolio front page today so that I can add projects during the year. My first step was to select 'Pages and Menu' from the left-hand menu. Then I went to Portfolio and deleted the template collection as well as the associated links. Then I clicked the “Add” button and selected “Text” where I added a Heading. I also changed the font to Noticia Text 75 pt, which I used earlier on this website

Next, I added a 'button' to the page and my new image.  I did this by clicking the plus sign in the left-hand menu, then selecting 'Button,' and then dragging and dropping it onto my page. Of course, I also changed the font of  'button' to Noticia Text to match the rest of the page, and then I chose to bold the text to make it more readable.

The next step was to create a new page that would be my project page for this term. I renamed it "Culture Shock", then dragged it under Portfolio and created a subpage. I then went back to the button and added a link to the button on my project page.

I then added a video from the Wix library to test how my gallery worked. Next, I added a back to portfolio 'button' on my project page and added a link to it to connect to the portfolio. I didn't have to change the font in the 'button' on the project subpage, because it automatically adapted to the ones I used for the main page.
Finally, I previewed it to see if the links worked and if the navigation was ready to upload my project.

My last step was to add a description of my future project. For this purpose, I used the Add button and then added the text as a paragraph and copied my introduction that I created in class the previous week. I saved and preview this after making one more font change to match the rest of the website.

After completing my website, I checked again to make sure all the links and buttons were working properly. I also checked the preview of the mobile version and found that I needed to change the composition. So I moved the video above the description and below the title. At the very end I placed a button that takes you to the main portfolio page. I centered all the elements on the page and saved again.

You can get an overview of my website and its mobile version below.
I like the look and design of both the browser and mobile versions. Once the project is complete, I will update the page with my own video instead of the sample video from the Wix library.
