Sequential Images: Individual Work

My last task in the first week was to create my own sequential image. The last year was hard for me and at times I had moments of doubt. This is the reason why I decided to create a project that would remind me that I should always look into the future with hope.

To create my Sequential Images I needed a camera, a model and of course a background for my photos. I used Google Pixar 6a phone to take the pictures and as a scenery I chose the stairs next to the Vijay Patel Building. I took 67 photos of my model Miss A. in two different places, various angles and poses, and then used them to make a contact sheet.

The last step was to create a final sequence which I called 'Never Give Up!'. I decided to use photos taken in the second location with the Vijay Patel Building in the background

To make my image sequence I used Pixlr E, where I created a white canvas in A4 format which I rotated to landscape orientation. Then I pasted six chosen photos, who I made in second locand arranged them on the canvas, adjusting their sizes with the transform controls, and arranging them according to the gridline.

As a final step, I changed the font to Trebuchet MS and added the text using the text tool.

Reflection

I wanted to demonstrate in my project that we must never give up and must always move forward, even when fate is not on our side. The staircase in pictures best describes how difficult and dangerous life can be. Like the main character of my sequential image, we always must get back up after falling.

  1. This is a very interesting piece with a wonderful message.
I'm interested in that you used only twelve images for the contact sheet and not the full 67. What was it about the 55 images that didn't even make it to the contact sheet. Traditionally this is where you would make the comparison of them all and pick the six to use. If you did this digitally then mention that here as you have demonstrated use of more digital products.
Your reflection repeats the introduction and the meaning of the piece. For a true reflection examine what you like or dislike about the final piece. What might you have done differently?
Overall, a solid piece of work with use of references, various digital tools with a good, well represented meaning.
